Ecuador Residency Visas — 2026
Find the Right Visa for Your Situation
Ecuador offers several residency visa paths, each designed for different income sources and life situations. The right visa depends on whether you have a degree, a pension, passive income, or investment capital. Here's what each requires — and which one fits you.

Government fees are $320 for all visa categories. EcuaPass service fees range from $1,200–$1,750 depending on visa type. Dependents can be added for $250 each.
Which Visa Fits You?
A Quick Framework
If you have a university degree from any accredited institution, the Professional Visa is almost always your best option — it has the lowest income threshold at $482 per month, one-third of any other category. If you don't have a degree but receive pension income, the Pensioner Visa is your direct path. If your income is from investments, rental properties, or portfolio withdrawals rather than a pension, the Rentista Visa fits. And if you have $48,200 available to invest in Ecuadorian real estate or a bank CD, the Investor Visa eliminates ongoing income requirements entirely.
