Frequently asked question
What happens if my Ecuador visa is denied?
A visa denial is not the end of the road. First, read the denial letter carefully to understand the specific reason — common causes include insufficient income evidence, expired documents, name mismatches, or missing apostilles. In many cases, the issue can be corrected and a new application filed. You generally have the right to appeal or to file a subsanación (correction) if the denial was procedural. If the denial was substantive — for example, criminal history or ineligibility for the category — you may need to choose a different visa route. EcuaPass reviews denial cases and advises on the best path forward, but we cannot guarantee a different outcome.
