STEP 1Request Your Background Check
- Nebraska criminal history records are maintained by the Nebraska State Patrol's Criminal Identification Division (CID).
- Online: Request a criminal history record at nebraska.gov/clickBackground for $30. Results are returned electronically.
- In person or by mail: Complete the Criminal History Record Request form and submit it with a $30 payment (cashier's check, personal check, or money order) to any Nebraska State Patrol Troop Area office or mail to the CID.
- For immigration purposes, fingerprint-based checks are available at all Nebraska State Patrol locations via LiveScan. Contact the CID at (402) 479-4971 for the current fingerprint processing fee.
- Nebraska statute requires the State Patrol to complete criminal history reports within 3 business days of receiving a properly submitted request.
STEP 2Receive Your Results
- Online results are typically returned within 3 business days.
- In-person and mail requests are also processed within 3 business days of receipt per Nebraska statute.
- Your report (Record of Arrest and Prosecution, or RAP) will list any criminal history on file or confirm no record exists.
STEP 3Apostille Your Background Check
- Submit your background check to the Nebraska Secretary of State for an apostille.
- The apostille fee is $10 per document/notarization.
- In-person and mail requests are available. In-person processing can be completed in 1 business day. Mail processing takes approximately 14 business days.

STEP 4Translate via EcuadorTranslations.com

- Cost: $150 per document ($130 each for 3 or more documents).
