Frequently asked question
Can I bring my pets when I move to Ecuador?
Yes. Ecuador allows import of cats and dogs with proper documentation. Requirements include an international health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, proof of rabies vaccination (administered at least 30 days before travel but within the validity period), and in some cases a titer test depending on the country of origin. Pets enter as cargo or in cabin depending on airline rules. There is no quarantine for cats and dogs from most countries if documentation is complete. Ecuador also has competent veterinary care in major cities, with several English-speaking vets in Cuenca and Quito.
