You do not need a perfect application folder to start a document review. You need enough evidence to show the route question, the documents already in hand, and the gaps that could change the order of work.
The goal is a useful first read, not a giant upload. Send the files that answer the case question and explain what is still pending.
Start with the route and the person
Upload the passport identity page and state the route you are considering. If you are comparing categories, name both. A reviewer cannot evaluate a document in the abstract; the same income record can mean something different in a Professional, Retirement, Rentista, Digital Nomad, or Investor Visa file.
Add a short note with:
- where you are now and where you expect to apply;
- your intended travel or move timing;
- whether you have dependents;
- whether you are in Ecuador under a current status; and
- the one question you most want the review to answer.
Those facts often matter as much as the number of files in the folder.
Upload the evidence that drives the route
Choose the category-specific evidence first:
- Professional route: degree, academic record, field or modality information, and any SENESCYT record or status.
- Retirement or income route: pension or benefit letter, relevant payment history, and the explanation connecting the two.
- Digital Nomad route: employer or client relationship, contract or engagement evidence, invoices or payment records, and the foreign-work explanation.
- Investor route: the proposed asset or investment structure, ownership or purchase records, source-of-funds trail, and any valuation or registration evidence already available.
The Ecuador visa document guide can help you identify the category basics. If the route is still unclear, upload the documents that support each candidate route and label the comparison in your note.
Include the risk documents early
Do not hide the difficult items until the end. Include the background-check status, apostille status, translations, civil records, and any prior correction or refusal notice that affects the file. If a document is missing, write “pending” and add the date you ordered it or the reason it is unavailable.
For a foreign degree, the SENESCYT process may require more than a diploma. For a background check, the date of issue and authentication chain can affect timing. Early visibility lets the assessment focus on sequence instead of discovering the issue after submission.
Make every file readable
Use a clear PDF or image with every page, seal, signature, apostille, and code visible. Keep the original language and translation together when both are available. A simple naming pattern helps:
LastName_DocumentType_Issuer_Date.pdf
Examples include Moreno_Degree_WGU_2025.pdf or Moreno_BackgroundCheck_FBI_Issued-2026-06-01.pdf. The exact filename is not a government requirement; it is a way to prevent the wrong file from being matched to the wrong question.
Do not upload passwords, bank-login credentials, full credit-card numbers, or unrelated medical information. If a document contains sensitive information that the review does not need, ask whether it can be redacted without hiding the fact the document is meant to prove.
If the folder is incomplete
An incomplete folder can still be reviewable when the gaps are described. Explain which records are ordered, which are unavailable, and whether the missing evidence is expected to arrive before the planned filing date. Do not replace a missing official document with a screenshot and assume it proves the same fact.
The review can identify what to obtain next, but it does not issue apostilles, translate documents, submit the government application, or guarantee acceptance. Ecuador's official eVISAS portal and current category instructions remain the authority.
